- Brown Oxide  exhibits  a richness of tone that is lacking in the blended pigment and free from "streaking" which  makes this product an excellent brown pigment.

- Brown  Oxide  contains  magnetic  y-iron  oxide crystal form which possesses improved stability over a blended form.

- Brown Oxide offers the formulator a pigment providing the maximum in most binder systems.

Use of Brown Oxide

Paint Industries

- Brown Oxide pigment  enjoys their widest use in coatings produced for applications in marine environment. This extensive use in marine coating is   directly related to excellent stability, chemical resistance and low cost hiding power capability. Corrosion and heat resistance makes the pigment ideal for including in coating designed for use on Steel and Iron Industries, boiler coatings, automobiles and the likes etc.

- Brown Oxide pigment is one of the few  pigments  which absorbs almost all of the radiation in UV range and this absorption  helps  to  prevent  deterioration  of  the paint  film. Conversely it reflects a fair amount of IR light which helps in  Camouflage paints as  it provides a  reflectance similar to  that given by  trees, grass and sand and thus prevents deterioration by  aerial IR photography. Brown Oxide is an excellent product for formulating compositions that provide high IR reflectance and also for designing camouflage colours.

Leather Industries

Brown  Oxide  is  an  excellent  pigment  for  Brown  colour  leathers  as  simulated  leather  because  of trivalent chromium  as  one  of  its  ingredient  of  composition . It keeps the leather soft and supple and also used for this purpose by Shoe Polish manufacturers.

Ceramic/Pottery & Refractory Industries

Due  to  its  special  properties, Brown Oxide finds use in those applications where a permanent inert pigment (of relatively  dull  color) is called for. Hence,  it  is  eminently  suitable  for  coloring  highly  alkaline  mixes  used in ceramic, pottery and refractory industries.

Wood, Plastics & Handicrafts Industries

The rich Brown Oxide colourants are ideal for contributing wood graining effects to plastics or to printed panels for building construction and cabinet work as well as furniture stains and finishes.

Tiles, Flooring & Cement Colors Industries

Since  it  contains  Chromium ,  It  is  excellent  for  coloring highly alkaline masonary mixes that must withstand severe  exterior  exposures.  It  is used widely as a colourant in portland cement , in ceramic tiles, concrete, lime proof and stucco paints and as a pigment in roofing granules and flooring paint.

Rubber Industries

Brown  Oxide  is used in  manufacture  of  Brown  Rubber  and  Rubber compositions because it can tolerate any type of cure and has no tendency to degrade"(age)" the cured Rubber compound.

Paper/Wall Paper & Printing Inks

Brown  Oxide pigment is used in manufacture of paper, wall paper and printing inks particularly for soap wrappers and other similar applications.

Miscellaneous Other Applications

Brown Oxide pigment having excellent ferrite's properties makes the product highly suitable for the manufacture of magnetic  and  memory  electronic  devices. It is  also used  for  foundry-core  making.  In polishing, linoleum and asphalt etc.
